A frequent question we are asked is will a solar water feature continue to work during the winter time?

Obviously, there is much less sunlight during the winter due to fewer daylight hours and poor weather. Therefore, if you notice a decrease in the performance of your feature, this is normal. However, the solar panels we use for our water features should continue to detect some sunlight even in winter and while they may not perform as well as they do during the summer, they should still continue to work.

We do supply a number of solar-powered water features with battery backup; this means that the solar panel will build and hold a charge during sunlight hours so that the feature can continue to work in the evenings when it has become dark, or when the weather is poor. This is a great option for those who are keen to use their water feature all year long. It will state in the product title or description if the feature has battery backup.
